Accessibility
We are proud to feature several facilities around the venue to make our space a comfortable experience for customers with access requirements. For more in-depth details of accessibility information at New Century, please read download our accessibility booklet below.
Accessibility Requirements Form
All customers with accessible tickets are required to fill out this form in order to be provided a space within the venue’s accessibility area. Please can any customers with temporary access requirements also fill out this form, e.g. pregnancy, broken bones.
Access Tickets
If you’d like to use our accessibility facilities, please let us know at least 7 days before the event so our team has time to arrange everything properly. Requests made after this point may not always be possible to accommodate.
To reserve a seat or wheelchair space, please purchase an accessible ticket through SEE Tickets.
Once you’ve bought your ticket, please complete the Access Requirement Form at the top of this page.
If you’re unable to fill in the form, just email our accessibility team at access@newcenturymcr.com with:
- details of your requirements
- a screenshot or photo of your ticket
- proof of care if applicable (Access Card, PIP, DLA, etc.)
If you’ve already purchased a General Admission ticket, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
Please note we can’t always guarantee space on the viewing platform in the Hall or in the accessibility area in the Locker without an accessibility ticket, but we’ll always try to accommodate as many people as possible.
If you don’t require a seat but do need a carer / PA ticket or support, simply purchase a General Admission ticket and then complete the Access Requirement Form (or email us if that’s easier).
Pre-Sale Tickets
Some ticket pre-sales are run externally, which means accessible tickets may not always be available during pre-sale.
If this happens, we recommend purchasing a General Admission ticket during the pre-sale and then completing the Access Requirement Form afterwards.
Spaces on the viewing platform are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so unfortunately we can’t always guarantee availability.
Please note the access viewing area is reserved for customers with access requirements and their dedicated carer. Other members of your group will need to remain in the general standing area.
Carer / Personal Assistant (PA) Ticket Scheme
If you require full-time care, we can provide one free ticket for a dedicated carer or Personal Assistant (PA), alongside proof of your ticket purchase.
Please include proof of care when completing the Access Requirement Form.
We understand some people may require assistance but don’t have formal documentation. If that’s the case, just get in touch and we’ll review requests on an individual basis.
About the Venue
New Century has three main rooms. The Kitchen, for food and drink pre and post show, the Hall, mainly a standing room located on the first floor above the Kitchen, with lift access available and Locker, which is on the ground floor next door to the Kitchen – fully step-free.
As the building is Grade II listed, the changes we’re able to make to the structure are limited. However, we’ve installed a 2-foot-high accessible viewing platform with ramp access in the Hall, which can accommodate up to 19 people. In the Locker, there is a sectioned off area at the front of the room specifically for customers with access needs.
For seated shows, we’ll reserve a seat for you in the front rows where possible.
There are four accessible toilets in the venue:
- one on the ground floor lobby
- two on the first floor (Hall)
- one on the ground floor (Locker)
All accessible toilets use a RADAR key. If you don’t have your own, our team can provide one via the box office or the bar in the Hall.
We recommend Access customers arrive around 10 minutes before doors open so our team can welcome you in and help you get settled.
Assistance Dogs
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the Hall and Locker. All dogs are welcome in the Kitchen.
We just ask that you let us know in advance, so we can make sure everything’s ready for your visit.
Strobe Lighting & Special Effects
Some shows may include strobe lighting or other special effects.
If you have any concerns about lighting or effects, please feel free to get in touch ahead of the event and we’ll be happy to help.
